NSAR 2008 - Cape May, New Jersey
NSAR is an annual event between U S Guard Auxiliary units, demonstrating various skills in the field of Maritime Search and Rescue.
 
NSAR 2008 features events that are designed to test the auxiliary members ability to plan, communicate and prosecute a maritime search and rescue (SAR) mission.
 
Each district is able to send one team to NSAR. District will  conduct a run-off to identify their team. Commitment to participate must be made by 01 May 08
Team members must be identified by 15 Aug 08
 
Each team will consist of three members. At least one team member must be a currently qualified coxswain. All team members must be currently qualified boat crew members
Events will include:
  • Navigation & Search and Rescue Planning
  • On water SAR exercise
  • SAR pump
  • Line heaving
  • Marlinspike
  • Mystery event

All events will be based on the standards as set forth in the Boat Crew Qualification Guide, the Boat Crew Manual and the Operations Policy Manual.

Events will take place on Friday October 3 and Saturday October 4.

An Awards dinner will follow the events on Saturday evening. Events begin on Friday morning.
